Questions buyers ask.

Working with us

Do you make under our label?

Yes. Everything we make for clients is produced under the client's own label, with your trims, labels and packaging. Tarrit is our only label of our own.

Which division do I need?

Woven shirts and woven garments sit with Wovens. T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts and other knits sit with Knitwear. If you want us to find, manage and inspect other factories for you, that is the Sourcing and Buying House. Not sure? Start a project and we will route it.

Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Yes, before you share designs or tech packs if you prefer. Your designs are never shown to other clients or used for Tarrit.

Samples and development

Can you work without a full tech pack?

Yes. Send what you have: a reference garment, sketches or photographs. Our technical team will build the tech pack with you before sampling.

How do sampling rounds work?

Typically proto, fit, size set and pre-production samples, each with written comments. See the twelve stages.

Do you charge for samples?

Sampling terms are agreed per programme before work begins: [sampling policy].

Production

What are your minimum order quantities?

Wovens: [pcs per style]. Knitwear: [pcs per colour]. Development runs can be arranged for new clients.

What lead times should I plan for?

Lead time runs from pre-production sample approval to ex-factory: [N days] for most programmes, longer for custom-dyed or developed fabrics.

Can I visit the factory?

Yes, by appointment. See how to get here.

Quality and compliance

How do you inspect goods?

Inline checks during production and a final random inspection to ISO 2859-1 at the AQL you agree. AQL explained.

Which certifications do you hold?

Each certificate is listed with its number, scope and expiry on our Responsibility page. We list only what we hold.

Can my auditor visit?

Yes. We welcome client and third-party audits, announced or unannounced.

Shipping

Which Incoterms do you work on?

Most commonly FOB and CIF, with others by agreement. We prepare export documents and certificates of origin.

Which ports do you ship from?

Sea freight usually moves through Chennai or Tuticorin, and air freight through Chennai or Coimbatore, chosen per shipment.
