Tiruppur, in western Tamil Nadu, grew from a cotton trading town into the centre of India's knitwear exports. Every step of a knit garment, from spinning to packing, sits within a short drive, which is why the city can move fast without cutting corners.

Its dye houses were required to adopt zero liquid discharge, recovering water rather than releasing it. That rule reshaped how the whole cluster works, and it is part of why brands with serious sustainability commitments buy here.
